Our food

We work tirelessly to ensure our food meets and exceeds all current UK nutritional guidelines as set out by leading bodies such as the BDA (The British Dietetic Association) and SACN (The Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition). We employ an in-house dietician who is on hand to make sure our dishes taste great AND deliver optimal nutritional value across a range of dietary requirements.

Additionally, all our meals are blast-frozen within an hour of cooking to make sure they retain as much of the good stuff as possible.

Our Range

Our individual adult meal range allows patients to decide what they want to eat much closer to mealtimes. We can supply all kinds of popular dishes, from creamy chicken curries to full roast dinners, so we mean it when we say there really is something for everyone here!

Staff can simply re-heat the dish of choice within just five minutes, safe in the knowledge that the food they are serving is fresh, tasty and packed full of nutritional goodness.

Exploring the goodness in our meals

Magnesium: The body uses this important mineral to keep bones strong and the heart rhythm steady. It also supports the immune system and helps maintain muscle and nerve function.

Potassium: Potassium works with sodium to control the body’s water balance, which helps maintain healthy blood pressure. In fact, a diet that is low in potassium and high in sodium appears to be a factor in high blood pressure. Potassium also helps with muscle function and heart rhythm and, in a person’s later years, may reduce the risk of kidney stones and osteoporosis.

Zinc: More than 70 enzymes depend on zinc to perform their roles in digestion and maintaining an individual’s metabolism. Children who don’t get enough Zinc risk having stunted growth.

Iron: This is a nutrient that is needed to make haemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying component of red blood cells which circulate throughout the body to deliver oxygen to all its cells. Without enough iron, the body cannot make enough red blood cells, and its tissues and organs won’t get the oxygen they need.

Vitamin B6: Also known as pyridoxine, vitamin B6 has several important functions, including allowing the body to use and store energy from protein and carbohydrates in food, and helping to form haemoglobin.

How we fit into the Food for Life programme

All our standalone products, like our meatballs, beef burgers, chicken fillets, fish fillets and sausages, can all be bought in the under 75% made from scratch requirement. Proteins and sauces can be bought in under the 25% not made from scratch requirement.

For regeneration kitchens, we can offer one-step ready meal solutions that meet all dietary requirements and government targets in terms of their sugar, salt, and saturated fat content. And for kitchens with smaller facilities, we can offer proteins and sauces that can be added to in-house pasta and rice dishes to cut down on prep work.

We can cater for special requests in individual packs, if required. We only work with produce that is Red Tractor Approved, MSC certified, and created in BRC Grade A factories. All dishes are available in HFA standard Halal versions.

Our safe to serve Coeliac food can be brought in for special dietary requirements.
